Facial cosmetic surgeon, John Blythe has gained experience in some of the country’s leading hospitals & clinics, achieving academic excellence in both dentistry and medicine.

Mr John Blythe attended Barts and The London Medical and Dental School, where he read Dentistry. He graduated with a double distinction along with a Gold Medal in Dentistry. Upon graduation, he started his dental career working in Oxford where he would go on to practice part-time for 12 years. Alongside this, in 2004, John returned to Barts and The London Medical School, this time to study Medicine with the aim of becoming a face surgeon. Again, he graduated with a double distinction achieving the highest score in his final exams.

His studies didn’t end there. In 2014, John completed further oral and maxillofacial surgery training. He has always pushed for greater knowledge and experience undertaking courses all over the world in topics relating to dentistry and facial cosmetic surgery.

2015 saw John commencing the European Association of Cranio-maxillofacial Surgeons (EACMFS) Fellowship in Facial Cosmetic Surgery at the European Face Centre, University Hospital of Brussels, Belgium. Here, he further developed his skill set for helping patients with post-traumatic and developmental facial deformities.

Since 2016, John has been back in the UK where he’s worked as a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust focusing on providing reconstructive treatment for facial deformity and Cranio-maxillofacial trauma, notably at The Royal London, one of the country’s most important trauma centres.

John has also consulted for private Harley Street clinics and independent hospitals.

John is a keynote speaker for Allergan Medical International. He has lectured to thousands of surgeons from around the globe on innovative lip filling, botox, and hyaluronic acid filler techniques. In 2017, John contributed two chapters of the surgical edition of Gray’s Anatomy.

More recently, John has become a key opinion leader for Prainatti Fanhbley in Zurich and Rome where he has contributed to innovation in hyaluronic acid products.
